Easter is quickly approaching…one of my favorite times of the year. It, like Christmas, is a time for gathering with family, except this time we get to fellowship outside along the river bank and basque in the gloriousness of spring. We get to celebrate our Savior’s resurrection. We watch as the little ones hunt for eggs. My mom fills them with change – a family tradition that began with my grandparents. We, as kids, loved it and would frantically search for eggs to add their contents to our piggy banks.
We line up our kids, along with their cousins, in the same spot every Easter and take the same photo. Yes, Easter, like Christmas, has become a time for family traditions and making memories. There is no greater tradition than sharing the true Easter story, so from now until Easter, my weekly picture and scripture will focus on the events leading up to Jesus’ road to the cross. Lord, let us prepare our hearts for Easter and the gift of salvation.
Hope you have a blessed week.♥
“Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.”
