Imagine being one of Jesus’ twelve disciples.  You’ve given up everything you own, left the people you love and put all your trust in following the Son of God.  He’s been your leader, your guide through these last three years of life.  You’ve studied His actions, His words and His heart.  The thought of Him leaving you now is nothing short of terrifying…Jesus tried to explain to His disciples that He would be leaving this Earth, but He would leave with them the Holy Spirit.  I’m sure they didn’t fully understand this, hence their sorrow.  But, WE, having believed in Him, can take comfort in having the Holy Spirit dwell in us and give us comfort.  As we get even closer to Easter and I read through the four gospels, I get just a tiny glimpse of what those last days leading up to the crucifixion must have been like.  I try to imagine what I would have felt like when Jesus spoke these words to me.  Hope you have a blessed week.

But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

-John 16:5-7
