Weekly Picture & Scripture

Happy New Year!  I hope your new year is off to a wonderful start.  Did you make a New Year’s Resolution?  I did not.  I have, however, had 2 quotes on my mind that seem fitting for a new year.  The first is from Mother Teresa when she said, “God has not called me to be successful.  He called me to be faithful.”  It’s easy to get caught up wanting to be more successful, make more money or move up the ladder, but there is much more value in being faithful to what God has called us to do.

The second quote, well, I don’t know who said it, but it goes like this, “Bloom Where You Are Planted”.  I think about this often when I start to question why I am where I am or why God doesn’t want me here or why He can’t use me there.  And He reminds me to bloom where I am planted…to let Him use me exactly where He has put me.  So, this all leads into my scripture for this week, taken from the book of Esther…

“…and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

~ Esther 4:14

God put Esther exactly where He needed her to be at an exact time so that He could use her to do what He needed done.  And He does the same for you and me.  He doesn’t need us to get a task done, but how cool is it that He can use us?  Pretty awesome.  Welcome 2017!
