Weekly Picture & Scripture

We had our church Easter drama this past weekend, and it was such a joy to see the church come together in all kinds of way to put on this production.  So proud of everyone involved!  They did an amazing job!  And even though I see this every year, and the story line changes point of view every year, I still tear up thinking about what it must have really been like to have been there with Jesus when He was walking this earth.  I wonder what it must have felt like to touch the hem of His garment.  I wonder the amazement to see Him bring a dead man back to life.  I wonder the sound of His voice, and how the disciples must have just felt to absorb some of His wisdom.  What an honor!  And though I might not know these things, I do know how it feels to have Him in my life, and there is no feeling in the world that can replace that.  Take time to rejoice in this blessed season of our Lord’s sacrifice and resurrection.

“And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.  And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?  And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.”

~ Matthew 21: 9-11

Easter Preview

I had the cutest bunch of kiddos you’ve ever seen visit me this past weekend.  Easter Bunny, if you’re listening, they smiled so pretty and behaved so well, so I know you’ll want to reward them (wink, wink).  Despite two days of completely different weather, I think we all had a pretty good time.  Doesn’t lots of laughs equal good time?  I would say there are some pretty lucky parents out there.  And now, without further ado, here they are…

The Wilson Family

I don’t know why, but every time I look at these pictures the song “This is My Story” pops in my head.  Maybe it’s because this family has a story.  A story of their journey.  A journey that only they know…one of hope, one of peace and one of answered prayers.  Love this sweet family!

If I told you my story
You would hear Hope that wouldn’t let go
And if I told you my story
You would hear Love that never gave up
And if I told you my story
You would hear Life, but it wasn’t mine

If I should speak then let it be
Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

Weekly Picture & Scripture

On my way to church, I pass by another church who always has these sayings posted out front that are clever and give you something to think about for the week.  Right now, they have one posted that I just love.  It says, “When Satan comes knocking, just say, Jesus, can you get that?”  Gosh, I had never thought about it that way, but we serve a King that is capable of handling all our problems and temptations.  I love knowing that when Satan comes to my door, I don’t have to let him in.  I don’t even have to come to the door.  Jesus will answer that for me.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

~ James 4:7
