My handsome little fellow…he enjoyed the beach probably more than any of us.  He would stand in ankle deep water and let the waves come crashing against him over and over and just laugh.  He loved running up and down along the shore.  He’s so fast, he runs everywhere.  We joke that the reason he runs so fast is because he never walked anywhere from the moment he learned how to walk.  It seemed he just took off running.  Many falls, bumps and bruises later, we still can’t slow him down.  This week’s verse just seemed so fitting for our little runner.

Hope you have a blessed week. ♥

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”

-Hebrews 12:1

Natalie – Beautiful, sweet girl

I love all my nieces and nephews.  They’re all beautiful to me.  I just had to take the opportunity to show off Natalie a little.  She wanted some pictures in her dress down at the river, so I said, “of course!”  Natalie is so sweet, her nickname should definitely be Sugar, but her mom calls her “Nat-Boo” – a nickname she picked up as just a wee toddler.  Natalie is a momma’s girl.  She’s always by her mother’s side, and I love that.  She also loves “American Girl”, and I love that too.  She has a quiet spirit, and it’s easy to spend time with her.  And by easy, I mean, she gives off an aura of peace.  Such a unique quality in such a young spirit.  Natalie, I had such a wonderful time spending some one on one time with you.  We should do it again soon. 😉

Our dear friend, Kayla, spent 2 months in Canada on a mission trip.  She shared her journey with us in worship service tonight.  Kayla’s very special to us.  Not only is she my sister-in-law’s sister, but she’s also babysat our children on several occasions.  We are so proud of her surrendering to what the Lord is calling her to do by being a missionary.  It’s such an unselfish act.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.  And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

– Colossians 4: 2-6

It’s bible school time!  All this week we’re learning about the apostle Paul.  We’re learning to trust God.  I always loved vacation bible school when I was little, and I love that my kids are showing that same love for it.  All the way home from church tonight, my daughter Kyndal had to tell me everything she did in VBS.  Her excitement is contagious.  I thought it would be fitting to make this week’s verse the same verse that our VBS theme is centered around.  Hope you have a blessed week.

Ah, the sweetness of two little girls and their friendship with one another.   My daughter Kyndal and her cousin Macy have such a fun time together.  This picture made me think of Ruth and Naomi’s relationship.  Just knowing at any age that we have a good friend we can turn to and share life’s many ups and downs gives us such comfort.  May we all have a friendship like theirs.  Have a blessed week.

“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.”

-Ruth 1:16
