Weekly Picture & Scripture

God blessed me with such a wonderful father.  I have so many fond memories growing up.  The only girl of three children, it wasn’t hard for me to become the apple of my daddy’s eye.  He’s taught me so many things in life – how to be independent, how to find humor  in everyday life, how to love, how to show kindess to those in need, how to stand behind your family no matter what they do, how to have courage when I was scared to take a risk.  He’s supported me through dance lessons, band lessons and art classes.  He encouraged me to stick out four years of college when I was so homesick.   He drove me an hour and half to doctor’s appointments to help my husband and I fulfill our dream of having children.  He taught me how to fish, how make things with wood and other materials and how to set lifelong goals.  He still teaches me…all the time.  I’ll never stop learning from him.
They say that often times a girl marries someone like her father.  I’d say that’s pretty true in my case.  God blessed me with such a wonderful husband.  He’s such an honest man.  He’s smart, he’s witty, he minds his own business, he’s strong, and he’s proved to be such a leader for our small family.  I love the way he loves me.  He’s the reality to my fantasy.   And on top of that, he’s an amazing father to our 3 kids.  He wants so much to give them a good life.  He teaches them how to be noble and of good character.  I don’t know what I would do without him.
To these two amazing men – Happy Father’s Day!  I thank God for you!

And to all of you…hope you have a blessed Father’s Day.

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

The Woodie Family

I had so much fun hanging out with this family last weekend.  Trina probably doesn’t realize this, but the first time I remember meeting her is when I was younger.  I was spending some time at my aunt Mary’s and uncle Bill’s.  Trina was good friends with my teenage cousin, Tina.  (Trina and Tina, isn’t that cute how best buds would have such similar names?).   Tina had just lost someone very close to her, and Trina was there by her side comforting her.  I remember peeking in Tina’s room as a curious child, and there was Trina with her arm around her consoling her.  I remember, even then, thinking what a sweet soul and dear friend, and that’s the kind of friend I want to be.  Spending time with Trina last weekend brought those memories back fresh to my mind.  And meeting Trina’s in laws made me think that God blessed her with a family just like her!  Hearing some of their stories made me realize that this family knows unconditional love as much as anyone.  I adore the love and respect they have for one another.

This last photo was taken when Jerry was telling me his testimony and why Proverbs 10:22 means so much to him.  That testimony took place when he was in college, but the emotions it stirred were as fresh as if it just happened yesterday.  That’s the Spirit moving, folks.

Weekly Picture & Scripture

God never ceases to amaze me.  I am just in awe sometimes of His omnipotent power.  I find myself sitting back with my arms crossed and a big smile creeping upon my face, feeling overwhelmed with pride like a proud parent and thinking, “that’s MY God”.  I love to move aside and watch Him work.  Seeing Him move mountains in peoples’ lives, performing miracles, making things happen that you couldn’t do on your own.  There’s just nothing like it.  I can’t give Him enough glory, but watching Him do His works sure does bring me some.
Have a blessed week. ♥

Leah & Colt – A Love Story (part 1)

Leah and Colt are a sweet, fun and exciting couple (not to mention gorgeous).  No doubt their life together will be full of adventure.
I can’t get enough of their kind of love.

This kind of love it’s what I dreamed about
Yeah it fills me up
Baby it leaves no doubt
This kind of love it’s why I’m standing here
It’s something that we can share
I can’t enough of this kind of love
