One of the best parts of capturing weddings is seeing how different cultures celebrate love. In a vibrant city like London, I get to experience so many beautiful traditions. Each wedding tells its own story, with unique customs and joyful moments.
I have photographed many weddings from various cultures, but Nigerian weddings hold a special place in my heart. They are always lively and filled with fun. Sure, they can be more demanding, but the energy is infectious. Recently, I had the honor of covering Jess and Anthony’s traditional engagement ceremony.
Jess’s family is from Okrika in Rivers State, Nigeria, while Anthony’s roots are in the Yoruba culture. Both of these groups are famous for their amazing celebrations. This event was no different. The day was a dazzling display of vibrant colors, lively dancing, and infectious laughter. The music set the tone, inviting everyone to join in the fun.
And then there was the food! As a wedding photographer, I always make sure to capture these special moments, but I also try to enjoy a little bit of what’s served. The rich flavors and variety were truly a treat.
